Servers are the core of the front-of-house in restaurants, responsible for greeting, taking orders, serving, clearing, and answering questions to ensure a satisfying dining experience.
Daily work
- 01Greet guests and escort them to their tables, present menus and introduce daily specials.
- 02Record orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen.
- 03Serve dishes following standard procedures and warn guests of hot items.
- 04Patrol assigned sections, promptly clear empty plates and wipe tables.
- 05Answer questions about dishes, allergens, and provide recommendations.
- 06Assist with payment processing and keep the cashier area tidy.
Ability requirements
Hard skills
- Proficient in POS systems and cashier operations.
- Familiar with menu, beverages, and basic ingredient knowledge.
- Basic English oral skills (if needed).
- Skilled in tray service, wine pouring, etc.
- Knowledge of table setup and hygiene standards.
